Landmark Arts in the Texas Tech School of Art will hold an opening reception for Contents Under Pressure: Art of the Contemporary Letterpress Poster, tonight, First Friday, November 6, 2009, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., in the School of Art's Landmark Gallery.
Contents Under Pressure is a new exhibit featuring poster designs from some of the top letterpress artists from around the nation. The exhibit is curated by Dirk Fowler, associate professor of communication design at Texas Tech, and features posters using simple, bold images and unique, expressive typography to communicate contemporary messages.
The show opens on October 31, 2009, and will remain on view until December 19, 2009. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.landmarkarts.org.
