Mary Marcum, a Master’s candidate in the Department of Communication Studies, will conduct this research. In hopes of better understanding issues related to body image, this study will aim at examining the communication sources and content that takes place regarding this phenomenon. The research will be conducted via focus group sessions with a trained facilitator and note taker, and a survey relating to body esteem. The focus groups will be located on the TTU campus and recorded using basic video and audio equipment. All focus group sessions will be approximately 90 minutes.
Currently scheduled focus group sessions:
* Ages 18-25: November 11th at 6:15 p.m.
* Ages 26-30: November 18th at 6:15 p.m.
* Ages 31-38: November 19th at 6:15 p.m.
All focus group sessions will be conducted in the Mass Communications building.
Your participation in this study will be strictly voluntary and greatly appreciated. You may refuse or cease your participation at any time during the study. In order to participate in this study, you will need to be an adult woman.
