Spanish speakers are invited to join the members of Sigma Delta Pi and Unidos por un Mismo Idioma for a charla with Dra. Marina Ramos Serrano of the Department of Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Literature at the Universidad de Sevilla (see bio below). This will be an informal event and a great opportunity for students, faculty and staff to learn more about media, advertising, academe, etc. in Spain. At about 5:00 we will break for conversation over refreshments.
Marina Ramos Serrano is faculty in the Department of Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Literature at the University of Seville where she teaches classes and conducts research on creative advertising and non-conventional media. She holds bachelors and doctoral degrees in advertising and public relations from the University of Málaga. The title of Dr. Ramos’s dissertation is "Communication and Web Design: User Experiences with Online Shopping." As a participant in the University of Seville’s Professor Development Plan, she has visited universities in the United States and the Netherlands to learn more about new forms and methods of commercial communication. Since 2003 she has participated in a research group focusing on Methods, Analysis, and Strategies of Corporate and Institutional Communication.
