Special Mexican Heritage Spanish Courses, Summer I

As announced in all upper level Spanish courses during the last few days, the Spanish division of the CMLL department is pleased  to announce that it has developed a Mexican Heritage program for Spanish students for Summer I.  This unique language and cultural immersion program will focus on the Mexican language and culture, with a special emphasis on the Mexican heritage of Texas, and includes two special courses,  *Spanish 4309 (Language/Conversation) and *4332(Mexican Life and Culture), and out-of-class cultural and language activities, including a three-day field trip to San Antonio(June 10-12). . It will also provide tutors to work with students in and out of the classroom and include special guest speakers from the Hispanic community.  Most of the expenses for the field trip, tutors, and local cultural activities will be covered by a student field course fee of approximately $400.

Since space is limited to 26 students and a recent survey of students indicated that there are well over 100 students who are interested in the program,  it is extremely important that you express your interest now by contacting one of the directors,  Professors Zamora and Corbett at  Jorge.Zamora@ttu.edu  Steve.Corbett@ttu.edu and providing them with your name, e-mail address,  the 3300 and 4300 Spanish courses that you have completed or are currently taking, and an indication of whether your are majoring or minoring in Spanish.  . Although priority will be given to those majoring in Spanish, minors who are interested should contact us..   Should you have any questions, contact Dr. Zamora or Dr. Corbett.  Thanks.

*Both Spanish 4309 and 4332 may be taken more than once towards a major or minor.
