Creators behind “Pocket Dragons” to speak at Texas Tech
Landmark Arts at the School of Art is pleased to announce Real and Muff Musgrave, the creative duo behind the Pocket Dragon figurines manufactured by Collectible World Studios, will give a public lecture on Business and Art in room B01, Art Building at 5 p.m. Apr. 12. A reception in the Folio Gallery, where Musgrave will have artwork on display, will immediately follow the talk.

Real started creating his magical worlds during his student days as an art and engineer major at Texas Tech. He first made a black and white print of a Pocket Dragon in the 1975. Muff eventually quit her full-time job to manage the business end of her husband’s work, allowing Real to devote himself to his art full time. The first figurines went on sale in June 1989. An animated television series, Pocket Dragon Adventures, was produced in 1998. Real’s etchings, drawings and paintings have been featured in galleries and museums in Europe and the US. Pocket Dragons have starred in everything from greeting cards and limited edition prints to books and a computer game.

B01 is located in the north hall of the Art Building's basement.
