According to a recent study, as many as 50 million Americans believe the apocalypse will take place in their lifetime. In this course, we will explore various depictions of disaster and "end times" scenarios--and we will consider how these bodies of discourse affect the public sphere (that is, our political and cultural climate). If this sounds interesting to you, then register for COMS 4310 and join us in our exploration of apocalyptic fantasies of the 20th and 21st centuries! Hurry up--as they say, time is running out...
