PADR Course Policies & Assignments

Over 1200 students have been enrolled in the PADR course for Spring 2013 (see below for a breakdown of each College’s population). The PADR Office Staff wants TTU Faculty and Staff to be aware of the requirements for the PADR student in hopes of creating a campus-wide network of support for these students and a feeling of departmental cooperation in assisting students on their way to success. Below is a short summary of some required assignments and policies for our PADR students.               

Policies –

1.      Students are allowed 5 absences

·         Students who accrue more than 5 absences and do not file an appeal or file an appeal that is denied, will be dropped from the PADR course

o   Students returning from suspension that are withdrawn from PADR due to absences will also be withdrawn from the University

o   Students on probation will be dropped from the PADR course only

·         Students withdrawn due to absences, or students that receive a DF in PADR will be required to retake the course until the student passes the course

2.      Late work is accepted up to 24 hours after the original assignment is due for half credit – Submissions after 24 hours with not be accepted

3.      Use of cell phones, laptops, IPods and any other electronic devices are not needed and are not allowed in this class (except those with documented disabilities) Special circumstances are to be discussed individually with the PADR Instructor

Assignments –partial listing of assignments that might affect faculty & staff

1.      Attend a scheduled one on one meeting with a professor of their choosing to discuss how to be successful in the course, how the course applies to his/her life now and in the future…etc.

2.      Submit a Status Report of their grades at mid-term and discuss ways to improve and maintain academic progress

3.      Complete one hour of Community Involvement – students can engage in a multitude of opportunities on or off campus

4.      Visit with the professor for each course the student is grade replacing one time per month (PADR 0091 students only)
