TTU Research Resources

The Center for Biotechnology and Genomics offers instrumentation, support and training in various aspects of modern biotechnology.

Spectrophotometry-a spectrophotometer measures the amount of light that a sample absorbs. The instrument operates by passing a beam of light through a sample and measuring the intensity of light reaching a detector.

Protein Identification-we identify proteins by use of the following instruments:
Electrospray Mass Spectrometry which is an electrospray system coupled with a LTQ-XL and DECA XP system. The instrument is used for protein/peptide identification from an enzymatic digest, identify protein modifications, analyze small molecules & metabolites.

MALDI-TOF/TOF Maldi Spectrometry which is a mass spectrometer used for analysis of peptides, proteins and other molecules.

We offer Protein Purification using chromatography systems and electrophoresis systems.

We offer DNA applications such as DNA Sequencing and Oligonucleotide Synthesis.

We offer functional genomics services to include custom services, such as gene cloning, gene expression and protein expression and characterization.
