All hikers should wear closed-toed shoes and bring a bottle of drinking water. No flashlights please. No sandals, no flip-flops. Admission is FREE.

As one of the few known sites in North America to contain evidence of continuous human habitation spanning 11,500 years, the Lubbock Lake National Historic Landmark is a renowned archaeological and nature preserve. The Landmark, a unit of the Museum of Texas Tech University, is located at 2401 Landmark Drive on Lubbock's northwest edge (accessible via marked Loop 289 exits, or following signs at U.S-84 (Clovis Road) through Landmark Lane to Landmark Drive).
