TTU Upward Bound Programs (UB) are searching for a part-time Student Assistant to work M-F anytime from 8am-5pm to assist with clerical and office duties such as, but not limited to filing, answering phones, making copies, supervising students, and data entry. The Student Assistant will also be required to support other program activities such as assisting with tutoring, student events, workshops, monitoring students and other duties as assigned.
Student Assistants will work closely with students, instructors, Residential Advisors, and UB Staff to support the academic development of students and to promote a college going culture.
Required Qualifications
•Must successfully pass a criminal background check
•Working experience with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Powerpoint
•Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
•Ability to work with secure sensitive and confidential information
•At least 30 college hours completed
Preferred Qualifications
•Previous work experience in an office setting
•Previous work experience with youth as a: teacher, tutor, mentor, youth leader, or related position
•Experience working with first generation, limited income students, and other diverse populations
Positions Available
• 1 part-time position (Up to 29 hours per week)
Hours: M-F anytime from 8am-5pm.
Pay: $8 per hour. Federal work-study monies accepted.
