As announced previously, the TTU IT Division is upgrading all student accounts to cloud-based Office 365 this summer. The TTU Office of the CIO is working with the Student Government Association, Student Disability Services, Campus Life, the Military and Veterans Association, and the President Select students to pilot the new services.
Office 365 provides the same email service students are used to with TechMail, while adding a wide range of new services to students, including more email storage, 25 GB of online storage through OneDrive, and access to Microsoft Office from anywhere online! All student email, contacts, and calendar will be moved to Office 365 with no action on your part; your eRaider username, password, and @ttu.edu address will remain the same. A few facts about the upgrade:
- The Upgrade Process will Begin on Wednesday June 4, 2014 and Continue Throughout the Summer. Over 40,000 mailboxes will be involved, so we will upgrade them over the summer.
- Email Prior to Your Upgrade. IT Help Central will send you an email when your account is upgraded and provide you login information.
- Once your mailbox move is complete, the following changes will go into effect:
- New Address for Checking Email. To check your Office 365 mail online, sign in to http://outlook.com/ttu.edu.
- New Settings for Mobile Devices: To check mail on your mobile device (Android, iPhone, etc.), update the following settings:
- Mail Server: outlook.office365.com
- Username: your TechMail address (e.g., raider.red@ttu.edu)
- No Changes Needed for Outlook Software: Outlook automatically updates when you first connect
- Access Microsoft Office Online:
