HIST-4307-003: The United States, 1945 to present
As the Fall 2014 semester approaches, please consider registering for a new section of HIST-4307: The United States, 1945 to present. This junior and senior level history course for the Fall 2014 semester will review American history since the end of World War II with a focus on gender issues, civil rights, and popular culture and music. Starting with the end of World War II and the emergence of fears related to communism in the early 1950s, we will explore historical topics through a new perspective related to American strength through cultural and social developments related to working,  the family, and conflicts at home and around the world through the early 2000s. We will look at various sources that influenced Americans in their lives and outlooks, emphasizing movies, television, pop music, and media. HIST-4307-003 fulfills the writing intensive requirements for history majors and minors and three hours of the core curriculum credit requirement in American history.
