This semester Student Disability Services is offering its own specific sections of RaiderReady courses, also known as IS1100 courses. If you are an academic advisor and are aware of students with identified disabilities this will be a great opportunity. These courses meet once a week for an hour and the purpose is to help with the transition into the college setting. This class allows us to keep in weekly contact with our students and help guide them through the use of accommodations, as well as get acquainted with college life. We have specific sections for different disability areas: learning disabilities, AD/HD, Asperger's, SDS Military Veteran's, Psychological, and low incidence (i.e. mobility, visual, or hearing impairment). Each section focuses on skills and information that directly apply to the disability area. Please visit our blog to learn more about these AWESOME courses.
