The NTDS, Blue Marble Health, and the Antipoverty Vaccines

The TTUHSC Office of Global Health (OGH) invites you to attend an ongoing lecture series on issues related to global health and building healthy communities. The lectures will be held twice a month at 12:00 noon CT. Invited guest speakers will share their personal stories and experiences. Everyone is invited to attend. Free lunch will be provided to the first 40 attendees!

The NTDS, Blue Marble Health, and the Antipoverty Vaccines

  • Speaker: Peter J. Hotez, MD, PhD, Baylor College of Medicine

Dr. Peter J. Hotez is a scientist, pediatrician, and leading advocate and expert in the fields of global health, vaccinology, and neglected tropical disease control. He serves as founding dean of the Baylor College of Medicine National School of Tropical Medicine and holds the Texas Children’s Hospital Endowed Chair in Tropical Pediatrics. 

In addition to his duties at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Hotez also serves as President of the Sabin Vaccine Institute, headquartered in Washington, DC, and leads the Sabin Vaccine Institute and Texas Children's Hospital Center for Vaccine Development. Dr. Hotez is a member of the National Academy of Medicine.

Note: Lunch will be served at noon. The presentation will begin at 12:15.

Free lunch will be provided to the first 40 attendees!

This event is free and open to the public. No RSVP is necessary. Meals will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

This presentation is being co-sponsored by the Center for Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases and the Office of Global Health.
