Graduate Student Welcome Week
September 2-5, 2014

The Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC) wants to help you make a strong start with a week of events from September 2-5, 2014. All events are free, and we’ll have lots of giveaways just for graduate students! We know the first couple of weeks in the term are exciting but stressful, and these events can help you relax, have fun, and network. out our schedule of events here: http://www.gsac.ttu.edu/?p=3906

The GSAC

GSAC is an organization of graduate students dedicated to enhancing graduate student life at Texas Tech University. We collaborate with TTU graduate students, graduate student organizations, the Student Government Association, and the Dean of the Graduate School to address graduate student issues, produce academic and professional workshops, host social events, and participate in community service. We are also active members of the National Association of Graduate & Professional Students (NAGPS) and participate in state- and national-level legislative lobbying efforts on behalf of graduate students.

All graduate students at Texas Tech are automatically members of GSAC, and we welcome everyone to our regular council and commission meetings as well as to our workshops and events. We invite you to attend our next meeting on Thursday, September 4th. Meetings include an "Open Forum" where graduate students may voice concerns and issues in an open and safe environment.

The Graduate Center

Most of our Graduate Student Welcome Week activities take place in the Graduate Center, located in the west wing basement of the Administration building. All graduate students are welcome to use the recently opened Graduate Center to study, meet, or relax anytime throughout the year. Finding the Graduate Center may prove somewhat difficult if you have never been there before. You can use this link to help you find the best building entrance and look for the admittedly small Graduate Center signs. We believe you will find it well worth the effort of finding us the first time!

Please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for GSAC, campus, local, and national news & information relevant to graduate students at Texas Tech. And let us hear your ideas, questions, and concerns!
