Timothy Cole Statue Dedication
Over the last ten years, dozens of Texans have been exonerated of crimes they did not commit, and Timothy Cole was the first to become posthumously exonerated. After Cole's untimely death in 1999, the Innocence Project of Texas (IPTX) cleared his name. This Wednesday, IPTX, Texas Tech University, Glasheen Valles & Inderman Law Firm and the City of Lubbock will be honoring him with a permanent memorial in the Timothy Cole Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas

The park dedication and statue unveiling will take place on September 17th at 2:00 p.m. on the southwest corner of 19th & University (next to Staybridge Suites).
Guest speakers include Governor Rick Perry, Attorney General Greg Abbott, Senator Leticia Van De Putte, Senator Dan Patrick, Senator Wendy Davis, Cory Session (Timothy's brother) and many more.

Timothy Cole was a hero - an army veteran and Texas Tech college student who met the tragic challenge of gross injustice with extraordinary dignity, integrity, and love. This monument will forever show that Texans respect integrity and honor those heroes who are made of it. Cory Session stated, "This statue stands as a reminder that in these United States of America, we are still in constant pursuit of equal justice under law."
