Mob Violence Against Mexicans in the U.S.
Drs. William Carrigan (Rowan University) and Clive Webb (University of Sussex, UK) have co-authored a remarkable monograph titled, The Forgotten Dead: Mob Violence Against Mexicans in the United States, 1848-1928 (Oxford University Press, 2013).  This study is the first of its kind to assess incidents of ethnic Mexican lynching.  It provides comparative evidence for mob violence against African Americans and Mexican Americans. In addition, the book considers lynching as part of U.S.-Mexico relations based on English and Spanish language sources. They will give an open talk on Wednesday, October 1 at 2:00pm at the Formby Room, Southwest Collections. Light refreshments will be served.
