Funkadesi blends Indian music — bhangra, Bollywood, Indian folk — with reggae, funk, and Afro-Caribbean grooves. The band hails from Chicago, proudly representing the diverse multi-ethnic communities within the city. They are a 6-Time “Best World Music Band” winner of The Chicago Music Awards and have been acclaimed by Time Magazine. What distinguishes Funkadesi as a group is each member’s unique and uncompromised cultural/musical contribution merging to create one unifying sound and vision.
