Climate change is an increasingly important social and environmental concern in many areas of research. Each month, the Climate Science Center (CSC) seminar will highlight the outstanding research conducted by TTU faculty in the area of climate and its impact on the environment and our daily lives. Each month, three speakers will give short “TED-style” overviews of their research and its relevance to climate science, with time for questions and discussion of the broad range of topics covered in the session, and how they interrelate in today’s world. Talks and discussion will be appropriate for a general audience. Coffee and cookies will be provided.
The presenters for the Nov 4th session are:
Christina Bradatan, Sociology - "Drought and Conflict in Three Texas Settings"
Patricia Solis, Research Development Team & Geography - "Mapping as a Collaboration Process for Interdisciplinary Teams in Climate Change Research and Education"
Jennifer Moore-Cucera, Soil & Environmental Microbiology - "Soil Microbes as Key Players in Climate Change"
