How did they build the pyramids? How far does a catapult shoot? From megalithic worlds to pyramids, from Greek perfume to castles, this course examines how technology, science and engineering contributed to the development of ancient European and Mediterranean societies, particularly the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. CLAS 2305 satisfies the Texas Tech University core curriculum requirement in Social and Behavioral Sciences.

How long have people been speaking Spanish on the Llano Estacado? How important has Spanish been for literature from New Mexico and Texas? Students in Spanish 2390 will have the chance to learn about the Spanish-speaking peoples who gave the area its name. They will also study how the Spanish language and Latino heritage has influenced different writers from New Mexico and Texas.    (Taught in English, not for Spanish majors or minors)
