Inspired by the television show “Shark Tank,” in which entrepreneurs pitch innovative ideas before a panel o“shark” investors, the Student Startup Competition will take place throughout the spring 2015 semester.
The competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at Texas Tech, as well as recent graduates (must have graduated within the last six months). Individuals are welcome to apply, but teams of up to five are encouraged. Each team needs to include at least one student from the College of Media and Communication in order to participate.
Students can pitch startup ideas in a variety of different categories:
• Sports Media
• Gaming
• Social Media
• News and Information Technologies
• Innovative e-Commerce
• Public Advocacy and Activism
• Digital Entertainment
