I want to say thank you and congratulations to the
following people who represented Texas Tech
University Tennis Club at our first Nationals in Cary,
NC this past week.

Texas Tech Tennis Club made it to the quarterfinals
before losing to teams such as National's runner up
for the past three years, the University of Virginia.
Established as an official club in January 2007, the
Texas Tech Tennis Club is now ranked 3rd in the
state of Texas, as well as ranked among the top 25 tennis
club teams in the nation out of 400 university club
teams! That is a great accomplishment in less than
one semester!!
I would also like to take this time to thank Coach
Cari Groce, Irina Tereschenko, Jonathan Elliott,
Joseph Dailey, and Texas Tech Rec Center for
believing in us. Most importantly, a special thanks to
the Mr. Mark and Tricia Windham for sponsoring our
team and sending us to our first nationals. Thank
you so very much!
As always, the Texas Tech Tennis Club is always
looking for more players to help us strengthen our
tennis club so we can achieve our dreams of
becoming national champions! If you have a
competitive drive and are serious about
helping us reach our goal then please contact

Lastly, it doesn’t take a silver platter or a trophy to
remind us that we are champions! We are all
champions at heart and I want to say that I am very
proud of each and every one of you for all your
hard work and dedication to the club.
