TTU Transitioning to Microsoft Office 365

TTU is currently transitioning the campus to Office 365 (O365), a cloud-based application, storage, and collaboration environment. In addition to our previous announcements, we created an O365 website as an additional resource, https://askit.ttu.edu/m365. O365 provides our campus with convenient and rich tools in support of our institutional goals and objectives.

What this means to you. . .

1 TB of secure cloud  storage - OneDrive[1]

Free Office 365 ProPlus – Office 2013 for PCs, laptops & tablets

SharePoint Online for collaboration and sharing

Office Online – Web-based Word, Excel & PowerPoint

Office Mobile for iPads, iPhones & Android phones

Online music storage

Online video storage and sharing

[1] Replaces the need for Dropbox storage or other cloud storage services.

Office 365 ProPlus allows you to have copies on your laptop, desktop, and tablet– at no charge! You will no longer have to buy media at the ATLC; instead, you will be able to easily install the software on 5 systems you use. Due to Microsoft licensing changes, starting September 1st we will no longer be able to sell Microsoft products.

Office Online lets you use your web browser to create and edit documents in your OneDrive for Business cloud storage.

Office Mobile lets you activate Office 365 using your Texas Tech email address and eRaider password, giving you access to edit or view all your OneDrive documents on your iPad, iPhone, or Android phone.

We expect to complete the upgrade during this Fall semester, and we will provide you with additional updates as we proceed. Note that your email address will remain the same.
