The Women's Studies Program organizes a fall colloquium to provide the academic community an opportunity to present papers on, analyze, and discuss a specific topic. The purpose of the Gender & Gender Identity colloquium is to highlight feminist research and debates over the meanings of gender.

Session II, scheduled from 10:00 a.m. – 10:50 a.m., SUB Matador RM, will feature two presentations
- Presentation 1 - The Body & Identity Politics of Creating a Mural for Reproductive Justice, Corina Carmona, Graduate Student, Art Education, School of Art
- Presentation 2– Girl in a Country Song: Gender Roles and Objectification of Women in Popular Country Music, Rebecca Densley, Graduate Student, College of Media & Communication
Since its inception in 2009, the colloquium has served as a forum where speakers, discussants, presenters, panelist and the general audience can engage in vigorous exchanges centering on gender and gender identity in terms of empowerment and commitment to social justice.

This event is FREE and open to the public, unless otherwise noted (ex. $10 box lunch). Proof of attendance will be available to students attending the colloquium for course credit.
For off campus visitors enter through the main campus entrance at University Avenue and Broadway; ask for directions and visitors parking location instructions at the traffic kiosk station.
