An Introduction to Mplus Software

Mplus is a popular software choice for researchers conducting advanced structural equation modeling, but also facilitates the full range of statistical analyses researchers in the College of Human Sciences (and other social scientists) may employ. Mplus's ability to account for missing data other than through listwise deletion and its ability to evaluate model fit are of particular benefit to researchers. Mplus software has benefits and capabilities that allow researchers more flexibility in analysis choice compared to other software (e.g., SPSS, R). This workshop will introduce researchers to the data-preparation steps before  moving into Mplus, the basic syntax setup in Mplus software, and a variety of analyses including correlation, regression, confirmatory factor analysis, and autoregressive cross-lagged panel modeling. Mplus software is within the reach of all researchers hoping to expand their software capabilities.

Dr. Kristy L. Soloski received her Ph.D. in Family Studies and Human Services with a specialization in  Marriage and Family Therapy at Kansas State University, and was a fellow with the SAMHSA Minority Fellowship Program through AAMFT. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Her research focuses on examining how the family and other systemic factors are related to substance-use trajectories. Dr. Soloski teaches both Introductory Family Systems Statistics and Longitudinal Modeling for Clinical and Systemic Research in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at TTU.

Because workshops in the Computer Lab have limited seats and tend to fill up quickly, please contact Sylvia Niehuis (sylvia.niehuis@ttu.edu) by 5 p.m. on Friday September 7, 2018 to reserve a seat!
