The McNair Scholars Program provides year-round graduate school preparation for underrepresented students. Major components of the program include an 8-week summer research internship and faculty mentoring.
Throughout the academic year, mentors will be compensated for the following responsibilities:
- Meet with scholar regularly
- Assist scholar with the research process
- Supervise scholar’s summer research internship
- Discuss the graduate school application process
- Support scholar & write strong letters of recommendation
Mentors must have the following to be considered:
- Doctoral Degree
- Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience
