Researchers from Human Development and Family Studies are conducting an online survey of faculty, staff, and students to better understand campus attitudes toward breastfeeding and campus accommodations for nursing moms. Mothers and fathers of infants under one year are especially needed, but all members of the Texas Tech community are invited to participate. Participation should take no more than 15 minutes, and all responses are confidential. The results of the survey will be utilized to support the importance of lactation rooms for mothers to privately express milk. An increased understanding of attitudes toward public breastfeeding may provide useful insight to factors that impact a mother’s decision to breastfeed publicly. In addition, information gathered through this project may help administrators understand the breastfeeding culture at Texas Tech University and may be used to better market and explain the Mother Friendly Rooms on campus.
