FINISH YOUR GOALS THIS FALL WITH BOOKCLUB

Did you know 92% of New Year’s resolutions fail? What would happen if you finished those goals?

The Talent Development Team of Human Resources invites you to join mini-book club this October for “Booktoberfest” for staff and faculty. We will read Jon Acuff’s “Finish”—a book on how to give yourself the gift of done.

To anyone who failed a new year’s resolution and wants to live their dream, “Finish” offers readers a clear, funny, and quick way to complete goals by fighting perfectionism, choosing what to fail, cutting your goals in half, and making them fun. That’s right. Goals should be fun.

Booktoberfest will meet on October 12th and October 25th during the lunch hour. You’ll need your lunch, a copy of the book, and a friend!

Curious? Here’s a quote from the inside jacket of “Finish”:

“According to studies, 92% of New Year’s resolutions fail. You’ve practically got a better shot at getting into Julliard to become a ballerina than you do at finishing your goals. For years I thought my problem was that I didn’t try hard enough. So I started getting up earlier. I drank enough energy drinks to kill a horse. I hired a life coach and ate more superfoods. Nothing worked, although I did develop a pretty nice eyelid tremor from all the caffeine…You might not guess that having more fun, eliminating your secret rules, and choosing something to bomb intentionally works.”

Imagine. What would change if you finished your goals? How would it feel to complete your goals? We can help you get there. Bring a friend and sign up by contacting trey.gardenhire@ttu.edu

What you’ll get with Booktoberfest and future mini-book clubs:

· Every book in Mini Book club will be short, easy-to-read, and easily applied.
· Open to everyone (but space is limited). Want a book to read as a team? Let us help you lead your own team book club by offering supplementary materials, discussion questions. We give you all the credit.
· Fun, laid-back meetings and discussion, networking opportunities, and a chance to finish the goals you always cared about.
· We coach you through October. We send you other resources to help you keep pace on reading, ideas to implement the concepts in the book, and a way to celebrate your goal accomplishments.
· Ties into a new launching #Goals training provided by Talent Development starting December 2018. That’s right, we’re setting you up to own 2019 right now.

Please email Trey Gardenhire at trey.gardenhire@ttu.edu to register. Space is limited.
