Monthly Global Health Lecture Series

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Office of Global Health (OGH) invites you to attend an ongoing lecture series on issues related to global health and building healthy communities.

FREE lunch will be provided to the first 50 attendees!


October’s lecture topic: Meeting Challenges in Promoting Mental Health of Traumatized Adolescents Living With HIV in Eswatini

This panel presentation will cover the How’s, What’s and Why’s of the collaboration with BIPAI in Eswatini
(formerly known as Swaziland) and challenges faced in implementing an evidence-based strategy for capacity
building in addressing mental health issues in a low resource country. The next steps of this initiative and opportunities
for other areas of capacity building for improving health in Eswatini will be addressed.

Panelists include: Susan Calloway, PhD, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, FAANP, Professor & Program Director PMHNP
program SON; Dr. Michael Gomez, Clinical Psychologist, Associate Professor, Center for Superheroes; Emily
Merrill, PhD, FNP-BC, CNE, FAANP, Professor, Associate Dean, Nurse Practitioner Studies SON; Stacy Hobbs, RN,
BSN, PMHNP student; & Lindsay Urban, RN, BSN, PMHNP student.
