Graduate Women Mentoring Initiative
Our Mission:
This initiative is sponsored by Women's and Gender Studies, the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the President’s Gender Equity Council. The purpose is to prepare women for a successful career in academia and the industry by providing mentoring opportunities with women faculty members and women in higher administration.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Mentoring will take place in groups of two graduate women with one professor from November 2018 through March 2019. Each mentoring group will decide on their goals and schedule. Professors are dedicating valuable time and energy to this program. To ensure the success of the mentoring process, it is important that students commit to communicating and meet with their mentors on a regular basis. Furthermore, students are expected to participate with an open mind and willingness to learn and to be guided.
