On June 12, 1948, President Harry S. Truman signed into law the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act allowing women to serve as regular members of the military. On June 9, 2017 Texas Senate Bill 805 was signed into law by Governor Abbott designating June 12th as Women Veterans Day. Theme:( Challenging Negative Body Talk) A Positivity Petal is a handmade paper flower that has positive messages of hope on each petal. Positivity petals can be made for yourself as a reminder to stay positive or can be made to give to a special person. We will also learn how to restructure negative comments that women sometimes make about their own bodies or other people’s bodies so that we can be more body positive and accepting.
