Vaccine hesitancy and science denialism in social media, martial arts and fitness subcultures
Main stream news and a quick glance at many social media platform comment sections and posts suggest vaccine hesitancy and science denialism are on a sharp rise as we enter the 2020s. This phenomena has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu expert, first responder, small business owner and social media personality Stephan Kesting and TTUHSC Social Epidemiologist Dr. Jeff Dennis join the Office of Global Health at TTUHSC to discuss the rise in vaccine hesitancy and science denialism across social media, martial arts and fitness subcultures.
