Mandated Office 2016/2019 Upgrade to be Completed by 10/3/2025
We want to inform you that Microsoft will officially end support for Office 2016 and 2019 on October 14, 2025. To ensure continued security, functionality, and compliance, all Office 2016 and 2019 devices must be upgraded before October 3, 2025.

What This Means for You
  • After the end-of-life date, Office 2016 and 2019 will no longer receive security updates, leaving systems vulnerable to threats.
  • IT support for Office 2016 and 2019 devices will be discontinued after the deadline.
  • Upgrading to Office 365 (or an approved alternative) is required to maintain system integrity and performance.
We highly recommend that all users initiate the upgrade process as soon as possible to ensure a seamless transition and minimize any potential disruptions. You may find instructions on upgrading your systems below.
  • Labs or Shared Devices: Network Site Coordinators can request an Office 365 license for shared devices by signing in to https://software.ttu.edu/microsoft and clicking the icon for Microsoft Office. From here click the link beneath Microsoft Office 365 (PC Lab or Shared Device) and follow the provided instructions.
  • Individual Devices: Faculty, staff, and students can install Office 365 on their TTU-owned systems by signing in to https://m365.cloud.microsoft. Additional instructions are available in askIT.
