APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR SCHOLARSHIP CATALYST PROGRAM
The Offices of the President, Provost, and Research & Innovation are pleased to announce the 2025 Scholarship Catalyst Program (SCP). These offices have made $75,000 available to promote research, scholarship, and creative output (construed broadly, including written publications, non-print presentations, curatorships, exhibits, and artistic performances). The primary goal of the program is to promote the research and creative endeavors of individual Texas Tech faculty in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (including law).

Funds may be requested for ongoing projects or for new endeavors, to provide seed support or assistance to develop interdisciplinary collaborations or partnerships, and other scholarly activities. SCP funds are intended for faculty who do not currently have start-up funding, or who cannot use their start-up funding purposes of the project.

Funding requests will typically total $4,000 or less. Proposals requiring funds in excess of this amount may be considered on a case-by-case basis. The amount funded may be less than the amount requested.

All tenured and tenure-track faculty whose primary appointment is at Texas Tech University who propose research, scholarship, or creative endeavors in the Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences are eligible for SCP funding. Each faculty member may be PI (lead applicant) on only one SCP submission but may also be co-PI (assisting applicant) on one additional SCP submission, regardless of Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences area. Priority will be given to applicants who have not received SCP funding in the past three years. Applicants with an active SCP award from the previous year (or extension from prior years) are not eligible to receive consecutive awards unless they have submitted a final progress report for their active SCP award.

Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. CDT on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024.
