Dancers with Soul are recruiting!
Dancers With Soul: A Hip Hop Nation. We are Texas Tech’s premier hip hop dance organization! We do performances on and off campus, attend club events, teach at studios and intend to compete in the world of dance competition in Dallas this year. Dancers with Soul is an independent organization with support from the TTU Dance Department and the Vernacular Music Center (http://ttuvmc.org) .
Auditions: Sunday Sept 18, 2-4pm, rm114 in the TTU Rec Center. Arrive early to fill out paperwork and get out some jitters. Wear clothes suitable for athletic movement. Auditions will consist of two choreography pieces that will be taught by members of DWS. Between the two pieces there will be a section dedicated to presenting one’s own style. It is not required to prepare anything; however, if you feel that you can show your talents better in your own music and movement please do so. No prepared pieces longer than one minute.
Practice times will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-10pm and Sundays from 2-4pm. We will be discussing dues and attendance after auditions.
Special announcement: Workshop! on October 29th. For those who want to participate in a Flash Mob (a public surprise performance), we will be teaching the material for the flashmob at the workshop. Anyone can attend both the workshop and the flashmob. Workshop classes will be $5 each and we will send details about each class at a later date.
