Lubbock Mini Maker Faire - Call for Makers
The Texas Tech University Student Chapter of IEEE is pleased to introduce the first Lubbock Mini Maker Faire, scheduled for April 28, 2012 at the United Spirit Arena… All builders, inventors, innovators, hackers, tinkerers, gadgeteers, designers, artists, fabricators, welders, craftspeople, engineers, scientists, fabric technologists and more: Come show off your creations!

Entries can be submitted from individuals as well as from groups such as hobbyist clubs and student organizations. You will be asked to provide a short description of what you make and what you will actually bring to Maker Faire. Links to photographs or videos of what you make will be helpful. During our selection process, we particularly encourage exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of making things.

Please note that Makers do not pay anything to show their projects. Our goal is to provide the spirit of a newfangled fair that brings together science, art, craft and engineering plus music in a fun, energized, and exciting public forum. The aim is to inspire people of all ages to roll up their sleeves and become makers. This family-friendly event showcases the amazing work of all kinds of makers – anyone who is embracing the DIY spirit and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience.

Here are some topics to give you an idea of what we’re looking for:

• Student Projects • Robotics • Sustainability
• Electronics • Electric Vehicles • Puppets
