Just for Seniors...One-Hour Course in Financial Planning
If you are looking for an elective(s) The Department of Personal Financial Planning is now offering 1-hour classes in personal finance. Financial Senior Seminar is specifically designed for seniors covering topics that include financial issues that emerge when starting your career, compensation negotiations, cash flow management, employee benefits (including 401K), impact of taxation, and buying a home.

Studies in personal finance provide basic knowledge needed to manage personal financial activities in day-to-day life


One-Hour Classes:
PFP 4101- Financial Senior Seminar
Introduces financial planning issues that emerge the emerge when starting your career, compensation negotiations, cash flow management, employee benefits (including 401K), impact of taxation, and buying a home. Offered in Fall 2012 on campus as a face-to-face seminar and as an online class.

PFP 4175- Financial Happiness: Satisfaction in Spending and Saving
How can you use your money to actually make you happier? Using findings from behavioral finance, neuroscience, psychology, and neuroeconomics, this course helps you navigate financial decision making processes to generate more of the ultimate currency – satisfaction. Offered in Fall 2012 online only.


PFP 1101- Money Management Basics: Cash Management & Credit
Introduces basic financial decision-making regarding spending, saving, and the use of consumer credit. Offered in Fall 2012 as a face-to-face class .

Three-Hour Class:

PFP 3301- Personal and Family Finance
Upper-division survey course in financial planning that focuses on what you need to learn about how to manage their money. This is a course ALL STUDENTS SHOULD TAKE. Topics include budgeting, cash management, and debt management; saving and investing strategies; housing; insurance; taxes; and retirement accounts. PFP 3301 meets the core curriculum requirements for Individual and Group Behavior. This class is taught face-to-face and as an on-line course in both Summer and Fall 2012.
