Call for Proposals: "Changing the Face of the Academy: Diversity in Action"
CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The 2013-2014 Black Graduate Student Association Conference Committee, in conjunction with the Mentor Tech Student Organization as co-sponsors, are seeking proposals for paper/oral presentations, in addition to posters which focus on our conference theme, “Changing the Face of the Academy: Diversity in Action.” The conference will be held on April 11, 2014, from 1pm-5pm. Location is TBA.

Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to present research related to gender issues, sexuality, race, and religion. The face of the academy should reflect changes taking place in our communities and overall, our culture. Help us demonstrate that diversity promotes a voice for change and inclusion!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Paper & Poster Presentations

We welcome scholarly research presentations involving a single topic related to the theme of the conference. Paper submissions are expected to be coupled with a brief oral presentation. Working papers are also acceptable. Presentations are 15 minutes in length with five additional minutes allotted to each presenter for questions.

Poster sizes should be 34” by 46”. Presenters are encouraged to bring 15 handouts for distribution during the session. All posters will automatically be entered in the poster competition. Each presenter will be eligible for a best paper and a best poster award.
