Policy Roundtable - Obama versus Putin: PUTIN the Fear in the World

Policy Roundtable
Obama versus Putin:  PUTIN the Fear in the World
April 22, 2014 6:00 pm Davis Library Holden Hall Rm 107

Experts Dr. Frank Thames, Colonel Dave Lewis, and Dr. Alan Barenberg will bring a political, military, and historical perspective on this pressing matter.

Vladimir Putin is playing a game of Russian Roulette with his aggressive invasion of Crimea. The single bullet in Putin’s game may be leading the world into a second cold war. We are facing a game of chance with Putin’s aggression and it is time to take notice.

Why should you care? We are no longer America, hear us roar.

Obama vs. Putin: who shall lead? It is imperative that the United States be a voice of democracy that is heard over the voice of hard muscle. America’s inaction in Syria allowed Russia to gain strength in the Middle East and has paved way for rhetoric of excusable, inhumane behavior by leaders such as Bashar al-Assad. Putin as a world leader keeps that rhetoric alive and well. Will that mentality become the new international norm? It is essential, vital, and necessary for the United States to reestablish the rhetoric of human freedom, obedience of international law, and the right to freedom.
