New Hire Waiting Period of Health Insurance is 60 days. The Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) is changing the waiting period for Health Insurance. Effective 6/1/2014, the waiting period for new hires to receive health insurance is 60 days. New hire insurance will be effective the 1st of the month following the 60 days of employment.
ERS will be allowing a $500 rollover in the TexFlex healthcare account in lieu of a grace period.
Annual Enrollment Dates. Annual Enrollment Dates for TTU will be July 14- July 25, 2014.
New for Annual Enrollment This Year. There will be a new Dental Discount Program available this year. More information will be available starting June 15, 2014 at www.ers.state.tx.us
Effective 9/01/2014, the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) employee contributions will increase to 6.7% of their salary. The state piece will stay at 6.8%.
