The TTUHSC Office of Global Health (OGH) invites you to attend an ongoing lecture series on issues related to global health and building healthy communities. The lectures will be held twice a month at 12:00 noon CT. Invited guest speakers will share their personal stories and experiences. Everyone is invited to attend. Free lunch will be provided to the first 65 attendees!
The Israel/Palestine Experience

Mike Russell is a second year medical student at TTUHSC and is also pursuing his MBA and MPH through the Texas Tech system. Mike is from Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania and attended undergraduate at Kettering University in Flint, Michigan where he majored in chemical engineering and worked for General Motors conducting alternative energies research. On campus Mike is active in a number of organizations with the majority of his involvement centered on student government. Though Mike is unsure of his desired specialty, he aspires to eventually serve as a health care provider in a developing country upon completion of his residency.
During a gap year between undergraduate and medical school, Mike Russell had the opportunity to travel and work in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. His experience allowed him to gain a deeper understanding of the many complexities of this region. Please join us for this informative session as Mike shares his perspective on the political tensions, medical needs, and basic life in this region.
Free lunch will be provided to the first 65 attendees!
