October is Cyber Security Awareness Month.
2014 marks the 11th year of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (sponsored by The National Cyber Security Awareness Alliance), and the 10th year that TTU has participated with campus events and education. Cyber security is the practice of protecting our personal safety online, as well as keeping our personal information secure. Common sense, accountability, and responsibility are the cornerstones of cyber security. It is everyone’s responsibility to practice and promote cyber security.

In association with National Cyber Security Awareness month, the TTU Office of the CIO will be providing information aimed at empowering you with knowledge and tools to defend against Internet-based security threats. The TTU Office of the CIO has published a brochure with the basics of keeping your personal information secure, as well as protecting your personal safety online. If you would like a personal copy, or copies for your department/area, please email ITEducation@ttu.edu.

Please visit www.safecomputing.ttu.edu for tips and information on a variety of cyber security topics. The National Cyber Security Awareness Alliance also provides tips at www.StaySafeOnline.org.
