SACNAS Science in 3D plus LAB TOUR!

Join us as Dr. Fariba Assadi-Porter presents her latest research on PCOS. Dr. Fariba Assadi-Porter’s research interests are focused on the early detection of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in women and finding methods of reversing the biochemical dysfunction. She is also the co-founder of Isomark LLC, which develops technology for early detection of infection, she has developed a state-of-the-art platform that combines nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy-based metabolomics, noninvasive real-time measurements of isotope fractionation in breath, transcriptomics and imaging to study the molecular basis of disease onset and progression in chronic diseases (i.e., obesity, Type II diabetics) in animal models and humans. The meeting will be today October 22 from 5:30 to 6:30 in Human Sciences room 173.

SACNAS is a national organization dedicated to the advancement of all students, especially minorities, in science-related careers. The TTU SACNAS chapter provides you with the opportunity to interact with mentors and other students who can help you in your academic pursuits—such as your science courses—and in your research goals. SACNAS can not only help you find a research lab that fits your interests, we also provide students with the opportunity to present their research on a national scale every year!
