CAMPUS CRIME ALERT NOTIFICATION

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the Texas Tech Police Department is giving notice of a reported Sexual Assault.

TTPD CASE # 15-0288

On February 15, 2015 at approximately 2:19 AM, officers of the Texas Tech Police Department were dispatched to investigate Sexual Assault.  The incident reportedly occurred inside a vehicle parked in the R2 parking lot near Murray Residence Hall.  A female student was assaulted by a male who provided her transportation back to her dorm from an off-campus bar.

SUSPECT INFORMATION

The victim was unable to provide sufficient information to positively identify a suspect.  The perpetrator is described as a 19-20 year old White or Hispanic male, driving a dark colored, two door passenger car.  No additional descriptors were provided.

Persons who may have witnessed activity related to this incident are encouraged to contact the Texas Tech Police Department.

The Texas Tech Police Department cannot currently confirm there is a continuing threat to the campus community. However, campus residents are encouraged to use caution when soliciting or accepting offers of transportation from parties which may not be well known to them, should remain vigilant of their surroundings, and immediately report suspicious activity by utilizing emergency blue phones, calling 9-911 from campus land lines, 911 from cell phones, or for non-emergencies by calling 806-742-3931 or 806-743-2000.
