Final Grades in Banner

Final grading in Banner begins for the first time on Thursday, April 30th. As expected, it works differently than TechSIS. Below are some very important differences that faculty and instructors need to be aware of:

  • Degree candidate memos went out this morning to departments. Each instructor having degree candidates in their class will get a sheet with instructions. The very first sentence says grading begins Friday, April 30th. It should be Grading opens Thursday, April 30th. I apologize for the typo.
  • Every evening, beginning Thursday evening, grades will be “rolled” into academic history. This is a Banner required step which enables the students to be able to view their grades and GPA the day after grades have been entered.
  • Instructors should check and double check the same day to make sure the correct grades have been entered for their students.
  • Once rolled into academic history (i.e. the evening they were entered), grades may not be changed on Raiderlink. This is very different from what you are used to. In order to change a grade after it has been rolled to history, a grade change form (http://www.depts.ttu.edu/registrar/ChangeofGradeFormSpring2009only.pdf) must be completed by the instructor and sent to the Registrar’s office. During the open grading period, April 30 – May 11, Dean’s office signatures will not be required. Instructions are printed on the form.
  • Beginning May 12th, only the usual grade change form (with dean’s signature) will be accepted.
  • Beginning May 12th, the usual procedures for entry of late grades will be in effect:
    • Print your roster from Raiderlink.
    • Write a grade next to each student’s name.
    • Bring the roster to West Hall 103. Only instructors of record may bring the list. All others will be turned away.
    • Sign the roster in the presence of one of our counter staff.
  • Grading will be done on Raiderlink: www.raiderlink.ttu.edu
  • Degree candidates' grades are due Wednesday, May 6th. Those students are clearly marked on the final grades entry web page.
  • Instructions for grading can be found beginning Wednesday on the Registrar’s web page: www.depts.ttu.edu/registrar/

errata: Degree candidate grades were previously announced as due at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6th at 5:00 PM.  The time published in the official academic calendar is 12:00 noon.  Please make every effort to have your degree candidate grades recorded by noon on Wednesday, May 6th.  Any missing grades after 5:00 PM will be reported to deans and the provost.
