Details: Open house and public lecture on the evening preceding the first beam in the Large Hadron Collider. Join TTU particle physicists in celebration of the first circulation of protons in the LHC. The event will begin with an open house including refreshments beginning at 7:00 pm.  Public lectures will be given including remarks by local TTU physicists and invited officials beginning at 8:00 pm, and a short movie on the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment, in which the TTU High Energy Physics group is involved, will be shown at the end of the celebration.
