Brian J. Chavez received a BA in Government from Harvard in 1993 and a JD from TTU in 1996. He founded The Mexican American Law Student Association at Texas Tech Law School in 1995.
A former tight end for Permian High School, Chavez was one of the featured players in the H.G. Bissinger book and subsequent movie about West Texas football, Friday Night Lights.
Other conference events include: $1000 scholarship drawings, sessions designed to help students from historically underrepresented populations prepare for graduate school, a graduate fair where students can meet representatives from universities across Texas, door prizes including four ipod shuffles, and much more!
