The TTU IT Division invites you to attend Cyber Security 101.

Cyber security is the practice of keeping personal and institutional data and information resources protected.   As members of the Texas Tech Community, a State of Texas entity,  we are all responsible for safe computing practices and adherence to TTU Operating Policies, including the TTU IT Security Policies.                                                                         

The TTU IT Division invites you to attend one of our Cyber Security 101 workshops offered on the following dates fall:

  • Sept 11, 5:30-6:30pm
  • Sept 25, 1-2pm
  • Oct 9, 11am-noon
  • Oct 14, 5:30-6:30pm

 

Topics for this ShortCourse include:

  • Information security - Identity Theft, Phishing scams, Malware, Passwords, WiFi, and  Apps
  • Personal safety -  Social media & online reputation, Cyberbullying, and Electronic communications
  • Personal Responsibility

Because our facilities have limited seating, we ask that you please pre-register;  you may visit http://itts.ttu.edu/training/shortcourses to register.  Cyber Security 101, as well as other TTU IT Division ShortCourses, are held at the Advanced Technology Learning Center (ATLC), located in the west basement of the University Library building. 

In addition, we welcome the opportunity to bring the presentation to your area or unit!  If you would like for TTU IT to provide a custom session at your location, please email ITeducation@ttu.edu to arrange the details.  We look forward to working with you as we work together to enhance Cyber Security at TTU.
