On the Art Trail: "Are You Listening to Me?" Lindsey Maestri + Cody Arnall

Landmark Arts at the Texas Tech University School of Art presents "Are You Listening to Me?" an exhibition of current creative research by Lindsey Maestri and Cody Arnall at the TTU Satellite Gallery as part of the May 2017 First Friday Art Trail. The exhibit will be on view from 6 - 9 PM, Friday, May 7, 2017 and by appointment through Sunday May 21, 2017. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Artists and educators, Cody Arnall and Lindsey Maestri, deem themselves as "great collaborators" as a married couple and as individual artists working in collectives. However, they have kept their own art practice somewhat separated from each other, never sharing a studio space together. Now, their exhibition Are You Listening to Me? highlights the ways in which their art, clearly influenced by each other yet created separately, will share a single space and audience. In this way, their exhibition explores the relationships between artists, partners, audiences, and artworks.

Lindsey Maestri is an adjunct faculty member at Texas Tech University School of Art. She is an artist, curator, and educator with a background in arts administration and studio art. Maestri earned her B.F.A. in Ceramics and Art Education at the University of Arkansas and her M.F.A. in Studio Arts from Louisiana State University. She was previously the Exhibitions and Programs Manager at Tennessee Tech University's Appalachian Center for Craft and Executive Director at the Yeiser Art Center. She serves as a board member and collaborator for the international artist collaborative Expanded Draught.

Cody Arnall is an Assistant Professor of Sculpture at Texas Tech University. He earned his B.F.A. in Studio Art at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater and his M.F.A. in Studio Art at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. His research interests are in installation art, digital projection mapping, and interdisciplinary approaches to art. His art has been exhibited across the country. Also, he is a current board member of the international artists' collaborative Expanded Draught.

The TTU Satellite Gallery at Charles Adams Studio Project (CASP) is located at 1108 5th Street (5th street and Avenue J) in downtown Lubbock. Gallery hours are Friday, April 7, 2017 6 - 9 PM. and by appointment through April 7, 2017.
