The first Monday of October is the beginning of the Supreme Court’s term. It has been a tradition for the judges in a community to attend a Red Mass in celebration.
This year the Red Mass is on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in the Hance Chapel on the Tech campus. The Catholic Diocese performs the Mass. After the Mass there is a reception across the street in the Alumni Center and a meal.
This year’s speaker and special guest is Sister Helen Prejean.
For those that don’t know who she is, she became famous for her work with death row inmates and in the death penalty abolition movement.
